Rotary Cidade Alta festeja Jubileu de Ouro
O Rotary Club de Piracicaba-Cidade Alta comemora 50 anos de fundação nesta terça-feira, dia 27 de março, com jantar festivo na Casa da Amizade, a partir das 20 horas. Mais do que um momento de congraçamento, associados e convidados festejam nessa data as conquistas desse meio século de trabalho em favor de um mundo mais justo e solidário.
Na solenidade, o clube receberá Moção de Aplauso, proposta pela coronel Adriana e aprovada pela Câmara de Piracicaba por unanimidade. Na festa de hoje estará presente o sócio fundador, o professor Ernesto Barrichello, que nunca deixou o clube.
Cerca de 29 pessoas se reuniram há exatos 50 anos, para fundar o Rotary Cidade Alta, impulsionadas pelo piracicabano Fortunato Losso Netto e apadrinhados pelo Rotary Club de Piracicaba, no ano em que o distrito teve como governador o piracicabano Sebastião Santos de Oliveira.
“Tantos anos se passaram, mais de 200 associados já fizeram parte desse clube, muitas ações foram realizadas e mais de U$ 90 mil foram doados para a Fundação Rotária, destinados a projetos voltados às áreas de educação, saúde, erradicação da poliomielite e combate à fome em todo o mundo”, ressalta Roseli Piovezani Assis, presidente do Clube neste ano jubilar.
Segundo a presidente, preocupado com a juventude, o Rotary Cidade Alta fundou, em 1985, seu Interact Club e, em 1990, o Rotaract Club, ambos voltados para formar e treinar jovens para o ideal de servir. “Dentro desses projetos, mais de 70 jovens já participaram de intercâmbios em outros países, realizados com a proposta de conhecer novas realidades e disseminar a cultura da paz e da compreensão mundial, defendidas pelo Rotary”, diz Roseli Assis.
Ela também lembra que “da mesma forma que em 1968, quando companheiros idealistas fundaram o clube, precisamos cada dia mais difundir e viver os fundamentos sólidos que o fundador do Rotary, Paul Harris, e seus amigos, apresentaram: fortalecer os laços de voluntariado por meio da diferença que o Rotary se propõe a fazer no mundo”.
JUBILEU – No dia 7 de março de 1968, reuniram-se, no Salão de Conferências do Jornal de Piracicaba, cerca de 30 convidados, recebidos por Fortunato Losso Netto, representando o Governador do Distrito 461, e mais os companheiros Carlos Sachs, Michel Cury, Julio Marcos, Agenor R. Ferraz, Francisco Munhoz, Milton Nascimento, Américo Migliolo e Felisberto Pinto Monteiro.
Eles explicaram aos presentes a intenção de fundar um novo núcleo rotário na Cidade Alta em território a ser cedido pelo Rotary Clube de Piracicaba. Depois desse encontro, foram realizadas mais duas reuniões preparatórias que resultaram na indicação de um conselho diretor. No dia 28 de março, nas dependências da cantina do Clube de Campo de Piracicaba foi realizada a primeira reunião jantar do clube, comandada por seu primeiro presidente, o professor Humberto de Campos, ex-prefeito de Piracicaba.
